THE CONFERENCE CARES

Daybreak 4

We, at the Lehigh Conference of Churches, are thrilled to announce the opening of our second location in Easton. For over 70 years, the Conference has been dedicated to providing help, hope, and compassionate care to the most vulnerable members of our community.

As the Executive Director, Abigail Goldfarb, rightfully pointed out, the City of Easton boasts an incredible array of non-profit organizations, faith-based institutions, and community resources. We are genuinely excited about the opportunity to contribute our expertise to the already robust safety net in place.

Our decision to prioritize services in Easton was driven by the increasing homelessness crisis in the Lehigh Valley. We possess a unique ability to reach out to those living without shelter, cultivate trusting relationships, and connect individuals and households with the resources that can empower them to regain their independence and begin the journey to recovery. This approach differs significantly from working with individuals staying in shelters or facing housing insecurity. Recognizing the evident need in Easton, we feel immensely humbled and honored to have been chosen to address it.

Historically, our Conference has primarily operated in the Allentown area, and we have become well-known to those in the vicinity. Venturing into a new city means introducing ourselves to a fresh audience within a close-knit community. It also entails strengthening our existing partnerships while establishing new ones.

However, we are confident that we can effectively leverage our expertise and decades of experience to contribute significantly to the betterment of the City of Easton. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Easton Housing Authority for granting us this invaluable opportunity. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families we serve.
