Souper Bowl of Caring

More than 25 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single youth group:

“Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game,

help us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat.”

Since then, more than $110 million has been raised across the country and donated to organizations like the Lehigh Conference of Churches that provide shelter to the homeless and food to the hungry. Last year, the Lehigh Conference of Churches provided more than 61,000 meals to those in need. The Souper Bowl of Caring has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around the Big Game into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving.

Be part of this movement!

Designate a Sunday during the period from mid-January to early February as Souper Bowl Sunday and challenge your congregation to donate by passing soup pots to receive a special offering. Get your youth group or Bible study involved through a food or toiletry drive or other special Souper Bowl Sunday event. Or take time to ask friends and family to donate at your party.

To register, email or call 610-433-6421. Please mail or deliver the money raised to the Lehigh Conference of Churches (534 Chew Street, Allentown, PA 18102) by the last day of February.

Thank you for helping to make life’s road for the hungry and homeless an easier one to travel!
