Panel Discussion: The Prospect for Collective Faith-Based Community Development

This panel discussion on the topic of collective impact will address ways faith communities can become more proactive and collaborative in economic, social, housing, and community development. Faith leaders, community organizers, and the public are invited to attend. Doors open at 5 PM, with refreshments preceding the 5:30 PM discussion. Ron Dendes, Program Officer of the Rider-Pool Foundation, will moderate the panel discussion. The event, part of the 2018 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, will serve as a catalyst for creating a framework for collective impact among our faith communities.
Panelists and focus areas include: The Rev. Gregory Edwards, Resurrected Life Community Church of Allentown (economic development); The Rev Benjamin Hailey, Union Baptist Church of Allentown (the reduction of recidivism among men of color); Henry Moore, Lazarus House of the Lehigh Conference of Churches; The Rev. Jimmy Rivera, City Limits Assembly of God (economic, housing and community development; and The Rev. Canon Maria W. E. Tjeltveit, Episcopal Church of the Mediator (providing
a ministry of welcome for refugees and immigrants).
